The Penguins have submitted a bid to the National Hockey League to have the 2011 All-Star game played at the Consol Energy Center.

There is no word on when the league will select the site for that game.

Also, the Penguins, in conjunction with Robert Morris University, will apply to have the Frozen Four, the college hockey championship, played in the new arena in 2013 or 2014.
