Dorothy, the female peregrine falcon at the Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh campus, has laid her first egg of the season.
People can monitor the nest via the National Aviary's FalconCam.
This is the first time that birds at Pitt have laid before those at the Gulf Tower, Downtown. Dorothy is expected to lay an egg every one to three days for the next week, probably laying a total of about four eggs.
